As the World's negotiators settled down to their first day of talks at Copenhagen, the small New Zealand city of
Whanganui, hosted what is believed the first of a world-wide series of climate-change vigils. The hope is that these vigils will increase citizen awareness of how serious the problems really are.
Furthermore, the aim is to urge our leaders to come to an agreement that is fair and
meaningful. It is estimated that the total number of vigils that will be held throughout the summit period will be in excess of 1500.
